The Reiffton Fire Company was established on October 8, 1913 by Amos Reiff and Morris Romig. Located in Exeter Township, Berks County, Reiffton Fire Company is located two miles east of the City of Reading and fifty miles northwest of the City of Philadelphia. Reiffton Fire Company is dedicated to protecting the life and property of the residents of Exeter Township and St. Lawrence Borough. Reiffton Fire Company Softball Team Repeats as Champions

The Reiffton Fire Company Softball Team (Sponsored by Berks Fire Water Restorations, Inc. and the Reading Express) repeated as the Exeter Summer Softball League Champions by winning the end of season tournament.  The RFC Softball team finished with a regular season record of 23-9 and went into the play-offs as the 3 seed.  Reiffton won 5 games and went undefeated in the tournament to win the championship and finish the season with a 28-9 record.  Thank you to everyone that played on the team and everyone that supported the team throughout the season.  The Reiffton Fire Company team consists of members from the Reiffton Fire Company and the Reading Fire Department.  There are a few members of the team missing from the photo.

 
   
 
Reiffton Engine 2 Goes To Conshohocken Borough Fire

Engine 2 from Reiffton traveled to Conshohocken Borough at the request of Montgomery County for a working apartment building fire.  The name of the complex that was on fire was The Stables At Millennium.  Reiffton crews relieved the initial firefighting crews at midnight and replaced on of their apparatus with Engine 2.  Engine 2 supplied two 5-inch water lines that few Tower 7 and Truck 22 (Belmont Hills) for approximately 5 hours.  Reiffton crews, along with other firefighters from several counties entered building 100 to complete a secondary search and to find any hidden fire.  A high rise line was stretched from Tower 7 on the 3rd floor to a fire on the 4th floor.  Reiffton crews managed to find and rescue a dog and a cat during the secondary search.  Engine 2 was dispatched at 19:27 hours and returned back to station at 07:42 hours.  Other Berks County Companies at the scene were 5, 7, 10, 15, 16, 42, and 70.  Sorry if we missed anyone.

Reiffton and Birdsboro Provide Ladder Arch for Funeral

The Reiffton Fire Company (Tower 2) and the Birdsboro Fire Company (Tower 7) provided a ladder arch for the funeral of a police officer.  The ladder arch was at the entrance to the Forest Hills Cemetery.

 
   
   
 
Exeter Township National Night Out

The Exeter Township Fire Department participated in a National Night Out Event held at the Antietam Recreation Center in Exeter Township.  Crews provided fire prevention materials and stood by for the fireworks that followed the event.  The Exeter Police Department did a great job in organizing the event.

 
   
   
 
West Reading Cover Assignemtn

The Reiffton Engine 2 with a crew of 8 stood by at West Reading Station 64 while they were busy at the training site.  Crews relaxed at the station and went for lunch at GNA on Penn Avenue.  There were no calls during the stand by.  Everyone had a great time.

 
   
   
 
Practical Evolution Training at the Berks County Fire Training Center

Reiffton Fire Company Blood Drive

The Reiffton Fire Company held a blood drive at the station on Saturday morning.  The blood drive produced a good turnout with approximately 15 people donating.  Thank you to everyone that helped with the event.

 
   
   
 
2nd Quarter Incentive Successful
-
Exeter Township Fire Department (ETFD) officials finalized the 2nd quarter (April, May, and June) incentive program numbers. Reiffton and Stonersville had a total of 51 fully eligible firefighters, 1 eligible college students, 2 members eligible for QRS incentive only, and 6 fully eligible junior firefighters. This means a total of 60 ETFD members received an incentive check for their 2nd quarter participation.
The incentive checks for the 51 fully eligible firefighters ranged from a max of $971.00 to a minimum of $164.00 per person for the 2nd quarter of the year. If their participation meets the criteria, members will receive an incentive check all four quarters, in addition to their end of the year incentive check.
In the two quarters for the ETFD incentive program, fully eligible members have earned upwards of $1,900 to $300.00.

State Senator Michael O'Pake Visits the Reiffton Fire Company

Pennsylvania State Senator Michael O'Pake visited the Reiffton Fire Company to explain and present the newly adopted volunteer firefighter's tax credit for eligible Pennsylvania volunteer firefighters.  Senator O'Pake gave a 20 minute presentation to members of the Reiffton and Stonersville Fire Companies, Exeter Township Supervisors, and Exeter Township Fire Advisory Board Members.  After the presentation, Senator O'Pake fielded a number of questions from the firefighters.  Thank you to Senator O'Pake for working hard to support the volunteer firefighters.


 
 
Oley Turnpike Road Accident

Around 07:30 hours (after getting some sleep) Rescue 2 was dispatched to Oley Turnpike Road in Exeter Township along with company 3 and rescue 1 for an accident with entrapment.  Deputy 2 arrived on the scene with negative entrapment and recalled rescue 1.  Companies 2 and 3 continued into the scene to assist with patient care.  All crews cleared the scene in about 30 minutes.  The channel 69 news story is attached to this article.

 
   
   
 
Rt. 422 and Rt. 82 Accident with Entrapment

Just after crews were getting into bed after the lighting stand-by, Rescue 2 was dispatched along with companies 3 and 7 to Rt. 422 and Rt. 82 for an accident with multiple people trapped.  Crews arrived on the scene to find one victim that needed to be extricated.  Crews performed a roof removal and extricated the patient.  Units cleared the scene in about 45 minutes.


 
   
   
 
Rescue 2 Stands By at Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Around 23:15 hours, Rescue 2 was requested to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in the 4800 Block of Perkiomen Avenue in Exeter Township.  Crews provided lighting and assisted PD and the investigation officers.  Units cleared the scene around 04:00 hours.  Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim.  News coverage is attached to this story.

 
 
Motor Home Fire at Rt. 422 and Gibraltar Road

The Reiffton Fire Company and Gibraltar Fire Company were dispatched to Rt. 422 and Gibraltar Road in Exeter Township for a reported motor home on fire.  Captain 2 gave a report of a working motor home fire with a trailer attached and requested company 3 be placed on the assignment.  Rescue 2, Rescue 23, and Tanker 23 put three 1 3/4" handlines in service to extinguish the fire.  The trailer was carrying a 1968 Camaro that was saved.  The Reading Eagle article is attached to this story.   Thanks to Brett Mack for providing some photos of this incident.


 
   
   
 
Reiffton Fire Company Goes to the Philadelphia Phillies

Members from the Reiffton Fire Company, family, and friends attended the Philadelphia Phillies game versus the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park.  There was tailgating prior to the game and everyone got to see a great game featuring two of the National League's best pitchers, the Phillies Cole Hammels and the Diamondbacks Brandon Webb.  The Phillies won 6-3 on an 8th Inning home run by Pat Burrell.  Everyone has a great time and we look forward to more events together.
