Hazardous Material day for Exeter Firefighters
Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Wednesday morning responses started out shortly after 8am with an assist to 23 (Gibraltar) and 24(Geigertown) in Robeson Township for fuel on the roadway.  The companies contained 5 to 10 gallons of gasoline.  After making it back to station and restocking the equipment the ETFD was alerted to the Exeter Ambulance Building for a truck leaking fuel from a 200 gallon auxiliary tank.  The crews again contained the spill and secured the area until the companies clean up crew arrived.  Later in the day the department also handled an automatic fire alarm and a QRS call to round out the day.

Exeter EMS Open House and Safety Day
Saturday, May 30, 2009
-
This weekend the Exeter Twp. Fire Dept. participated in the Exeter EMS open house and township safety day.  The members graciously showed off some of our equipment, handed out fire prevention material, and educated the community on fire safety.  The E.T.F.D. also used Rescue 25 and Attack 25 in a vehicle rescue demonstration.  The mock accident included a two vehicle collision with multiple injuries and entrapment.  The members assisted Exeter EMS in removing the patients (actors) to the waiting ambulances and PennStar medical helicopter.  One actor was not so lucky and was escorted away by the Exeter Police Department, after failing a field sobriety check.  Thanks to all the members and township agencies that participated in the event.  Also a big Thank You to all the residents that came out to meet their local emergency workers.
